Dreaming has always been Renji's biggest weakness. He is sure he picked it up in his Rukongai days but he doesn't understand why the trait stuck with him. Dreaming was an easy way to get killed as Inuzuri gutter trash.

Rukia is the reason why he isn't lying in a peasant's grave on a hill in south Rukongai. He owes his life to her several times over. She is pragmatic. She makes firm decisions where Renji hesitates. She never lets anything stop her for long.

Not like Renji. Who is too afraid to reach for his dreams and make them a reality.
